16 Edgewood

My a cappella group, Yale Out of the Blue, is releasing a new album in the fall called 16 Edgewood (the story behind the name) and it’s going to be awesome. Its a labour of love - I’m incredibly proud of us, and thankful that I get to work with such incredibly talented people and that I get to call them my friends family. Yesterday, we launched the first phase of a promo site that will tell the story of how the album was made.

This was another collaboration between Nathan and I. I designed the look and layout and Nathan did the web development. As usual, we were working into the early hours of the morning to get it finished in time. The full site should be going up soon. Here is the link: yaleootb.com/16edgewood. Thoughts?

This has been an incredible week. I’ve been photoshopping/InDesigning/AutoCADing almost non-stop, and I’m slightly dizzy from the sheer quantity of material that I was able to ship. And it’s not only a matter of quantity, but the fact that this is work I’m genuinely proud of, some of which was done under impossible deadlines. It’s empowering.
The highlight of the week was FroyoCappella, Yale Out of the Blue’s open rehearsal for Bulldog Days. The class of 2015 is a fun bunch, and I’m excited to meet them again in the fall.

LoveNotes

This is how I spent my weekend:

Early last week, Smudge and I set ourselves the challenge of building something fun with which OOTB could celebrate Valentine’s Day. Five days of tinkering later, we shipped LoveNotes at 6:44 am this morning.

LoveNotes allows you to send a note and a Valentine-appropriate song from our current repertoire to someone amazing. It’s a small web toy that we hope people will have fun with; take it for a spin and let us know what you think!

[starts work on program drawings due in 4 hours]

About

Curious about cities, patterns, design, and marginalia. I use the word 'narrative' a lot. Emmanuel is Ghanaian, and a long way from home. Nice to meet you. (@equartey, Pinterest, email, ask)
